§ 90-6. Sound-level standard.

  • A. 
    Violations. Any act in violation of the provisions of this section is deemed to be in violation of § 90-4 of this code.
    B. 
    Motor vehicles. No person shall operate or permit to be operated any motor vehicle or motorcycle at any time or under any condition whatsoever where the sound level due to such operation exceeds 70 decibels directly adjacent to such vehicle if on a public highway or parking area or at the property line if occurring on private property.
    C. 
    No person shall operate any machinery, equipment, pump, fan, exhaust fan, attic fan, air-conditioning apparatus, sound production device, air compressor or other mechanical device in such a manner as to create any noise exceeding 70 decibels at the nearest property line of the premises or directly adjacent to such vehicle if located on a public highway or parking area.
